What’s Happening at Central Library . . .

The Central Library building will be under renovation until June 2010. On Monday, November 9 Central Library began operating from two facilities. The Children’s Room remains open to the public at the current location. All Adult and Teen services are now relocated to an interim facility at 290 S. Anaheim Blvd. (corner of Anaheim and Broadway).  View the map

How will Public Service be Impacted?
Central Library services are now provided in two locations:

Children's and Junior High collections, computers, space and programs are still available in the Central Library at 500 W. Broadway. Facility hours are Mon-Wed 10-8, Thurs & Fri 11-8, and Saturday 10-6.

Popular Adult and Teen collections, public access computers, and limited seating have been relocated to the 1st floor of the building on the northeast corner of Broadway and Anaheim Blvd. This facility is open Mon-Wed 10-9, Thurs & Fri 11-9, and Saturday 10-6.

Why the Changes?
Anaheim’s Central Library, built in 1963, does not meet current building codes. This third phase of an ongoing facility renovation will address ADA accessibility, including additional restrooms and a new elevator, as well as upgrades to aging building systems.

How Will I Know What’s Going On?
Banners and signs are posted at both locations to let you know what's happening.  Throughout the process we will post pictures and schedules to keep our users informed. We encouraged you to sign up for our new E-Info newsletter, Library News, to receive the latest updates in your mailbox.
