Due to budget cuts, the Anaheim Public Library has had to make tough decisions to reduce expenses. In addition to reductions in Library hours and of full-time staff, the Bookmobile program will lose one full-time driver and take Bookmobile One (the tractor-trailer) out of service at the end of July.

On a positive note, Fleet Services, supported by the City Manager, has secured storage for the Bookmobile being pulled.  The Bookmobile will be stored for one year with the hope that we will be able to find funding to resume service of two Bookmobiles in the 2011/12 Fiscal Year.    Starting August 2, 2010, the remaining Bookmobile will visit each stop every other week. While this reduces Bookmobile service levels to our low income neighborhoods by 50% as we move from a weekly to a biweekly schedule, all of our current 22 neighborhood and schools stops will be maintained.
